Tuition and Policies

1. Divisions & Levels

2. Tuition & Billing

If tuition or fees are not paid on time or a payment is declined, a $25 late fee will be assessed. If payment is not received within 10 days of the due date, the student may be unable to participate in classes until the account is brought current.

Annual Registration Fee

  • A non-refundable registration fee of $37 per student is due upon enrollment for each season.

  • If a dancer’s registration fee was already charged between June 15, 2025 – August 17, 2025, they will be credited for that fee.

  • Moving forward, all annual registration fees will automatically be charged at the start of each training year.

Pre-Primary Division

  • Tuition is billed monthly on the 15th of each month

  • Tuition is based on number of classes per week

  • Memberships can be held (for special circumstances, at the discretion of LABS) or canceled with email/written notice by the 5th of the month

Primary, Junior, & Pre-Professional Divisions

  • Tuition is billed monthly on the 15th

  • Requires a 10-month/40-week commitment (August 15, 2025 – May 15, 2026)

Tuition is based on number of classes per week.

Cancellation Policy:
For Primary, Junior, and Pre-Professional Divisions, early termination of the 10-month commitment requires written notice by the 5th of the month and a cancellation fee equal to two month's tuition. This policy allows us to maintain balanced class sizes and consistent training for all students.

Season Dates: August 18, 2025 – June 13, 2026

Studio Holidays (No Regular Classes):

  • Labor Day: September 1, 2025

  • Halloween: October 31, 2025

  • Thanksgiving Break: November 26–28, 2025

  • Winter Break: December 20, 2025 – January 4, 2026

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: January 19, 2026

  • President's Day: February 16, 2026

  • Spring Break: April 4–10, 2026

  • Memorial Day/Production Week: May 25–29, 2026

*Makeup classes are allowed for one-day closures only and must be completed within two weeks*

  • September 12, 2025: Last day to Opt-Out of Land of the Sweets

  • September 27, 2025: Land of the Sweets Rehearsals begin

  • December 11/12, 2025: Land of the Sweets Dress Rehearsals

  • December 13/14, 2025: Land of the Sweets Performances

  • December 18/19, 2025: Sugar Plum’s Realm Dress Rehearsals

  • December 19, 2025: Last Day of Fall Season Classes

  • December 20/21, 2025: Sugar Plum’s Realm Performances

  • January 5, 2026: First Day of Spring Season

  • March 7, 2026: Last day to Opt out of Spring Performance

  • March 14, 2026: First day of Spring Performance Rehearsals

  • May 4 - May 9, 2026: Evaluations for 26/27 Training Year

  • May 28/29, 2026: Spring Performance Dress Rehearsals

  • May 30/31, 2026: Spring Performances

  • June 13, 2026: Last day of Spring Season Classes

4. Dress Code

Girls:

  • LABS uniform leotard in the level color (see below)

  • Skirt (if permitted by level)

  • Pink or flesh-tone tights

  • Ballet shoes

  • Hair in a neat ballet bun

Boys:

  • White or Black T-shirt

  • Black Tights

  • Black Shoes or White Socks with White Shoes 

Level Uniform Colors:

  • Creative Movement Toddlers: Any color

  • Creative Movement 1 & 2: Light Pink (skirts permitted - no tutus)

  • Pre-Ballet 1: Rose (skirts permitted)

  • Pre-Ballet 2: Lilac (skirts permitted)

  • Pre-Ballet 3: Pacific Blue

  • Children's Level 1 & 2: Sky Blue

  • Junior Levels 1–3: French Blue

  • Pre-Professional 1 & 2: Royal Blue

  • Pre-Professional 3 & 4: Fuchsia

  • Pre-Professional 5: Red

  • Pre-Professional 6: Burgundy

  • Pre-Professional 7: Royal Purple

5. Makeup Classes

  • Must be completed within two weeks of the missed class

  • Scheduled by the parent via the Jackrabbit Parent Portal

  • No exceptions beyond the portal’s parameters

6. Payments & Enrollment

  • Payment, registration form, general liability release, and media release are required prior to class participation

  • All tuition and registration are processed via Los Alamitos Ballet School in Jackrabbit. Please email LABS@pdalosalamitos.com for enrollment inquiries.

  • Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise stated

7. Performances & Costume Fees

Winter Performance – Land of the Sweets (December 2025)

  • Must opt out by September 12, 2025 by emailing LABS@pdalosalamitos.com

  • If no opt-out is received, the non-refundable production fee will be automatically charged for all dancers in Creative Movement 1 / 2, Pre-Ballet 1 / 2 / 3, Children’s Levels 1 / 2, Junior Levels 1 / 2 / 3

Spring Performance – Title TBD (May 2026)

  • Must opt out by March 7, 2026 by emailing LABS@pdalosalamitos.com

  • If no opt-out is received, the non-refundable production fee will be automatically charged for all dancers in Creative Movement 1 / 2, Pre-Ballet 1 / 2 / 3, Children’s Levels 1 / 2, Junior Levels 1 / 2 / 3, and Pre-Professional Levels 1/2/3/4/5/6/7.

8. Media & General Liability Release

Media Release
By enrolling, I grant permission for my child (or myself) to be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. 

General Liability Release
Participation in dance carries inherent risk. I understand and accept these risks and release Los Alamitos Ballet School and its staff from all liability related to injuries or accidents during classes, rehearsals, and events. I have disclosed any relevant medical conditions and will continue to keep the studio informed.

9. Code of Conduct

Studio Care

  • No heels or street shoes on the marley floor

  • Water only on the dance floor

  • Do not touch the mirrors

  • Dispose of trash properly

  • Take home all belongings each day

  • Only toilet paper may be flushed

Student & Guardian Conduct

  • Students must listen, follow directions, and maintain focus

  • Talking is only permitted with teacher acknowledgment

  • Students may be asked to sit out if they are not following class etiquette

  • Bullying, harassment, or discrimination is not tolerated

  • Students must promptly exit the studio after class

  • Teen/adult dancers should use the terrace if remaining after class

  • Guardians must drop off/pick up on time and communicate absences

Family Observation

  • Allowed only during free trial

  • Please remain quiet and do not call out to students

  • Notify instructors before class if you must retrieve a student mid-session

Physical Cueing
Dance instruction may include respectful physical cueing. If you or your dancer prefer not to receive physical corrections, please notify LABS in writing and remind instructors at the start of each class.

Communication

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to keep their email address on file current and to check for updates from LABS. Notices sent to the email on file will be considered received.
